Now Hiring a Reserve Police Officer.....

                                                           
 The Scarborough Police Department employs approximately thirty uniformed reserve officers who provide a variety of essential duties.  Reserve officers complement the uniformed patrol division by providing part-time coverage with policing concerns at local beaches, special events and outside job details.  These officers ride as second officers in patrol cars on a voluntary basis.
 
Reserve officers are required to complete a law enforcement pre-service training program  prior to working in uniform and they exercise similar authority to full time officers in accordance with state law.
