TRIAD

TRIAD was originally formed in 1988 in Louisiana. TRIAD was formed and continues to be a cooperative agreement between the International Police Chiefs Association, the National Sheriffs Association and AARP. The agreement between these organizations was to improve and create services that address the needs and concerns of the senior citizens of our community.

Scarborough TRIAD was signed into agreement on December 13th, 2004. The agreement has created new opportunities for the seniors in the Town of Scarborough, and the Scarborough Police Department. TRIAD is a way for seniors to feel safe in their community.

Senior Americans are the fastest growing segment of our population. Increased life expectancy is leading to new challenges for law enforcement. The types of calls for service we handle, the crimes and the victims are also changing. With these changes, the Scarborough Police Department will strive to meet these challenges and enhance the quality of life for seniors in the Town of Scarborough.

The Scarborough Police Department and Scarborough TRIAD are working with many public and civic organizations within our community. With these partnerships, our seniors and Scarborough Police Officers will be better trained to handle the ever changing challenges of our community.

The Scarborough TRIAD is governed by a SALT (seniors and Law Enforcement together) Council. The following people are the presiding administration of the SALT Council;

President: Linda Bidler

Vice President: Janet Michaud

Sec/Treasurers:
